Zafira seatbelt problem

One of my darling kids knotted my middle back seat belt so it is not possible to use it. Garage have looked at it for 96 euro labour and say it will cost 320 altogether to replace (including prepaid 96 euro). They have ordered parts for me and will require an entire day to fit it. Seems a bit extreme. Don't feel have much choice as NCT coming up in January and need the extra capacity the seat provides from time to time. Any ideas welcome thanks

Would it fail the NCT because of this? Is it a lap belt?

I believe all the seatbelts must be in working order, perhaps I am wrong. No it was a full diagonal type belt and not a lap belt, and as we have three kids plus often have more kids with us, we need all five in back in working order. Just had the job done as don't want to face that expense in Jan but pretty gutted at the cost.
