See my post above. I have viewed several pretty explicit clips without having to register/login. One recent one was a 30 minute video of Iraqi snipers at work. Basically a snuff movie which I managed to watch about a minute of before realising what it was and feeling nauseous. (It was linked from a news site which did not make clear what the content was).If you try and view a clip that youtube have deemed unsuitable, it won't let you view it until you log in and click on a confirmation that you are accepting that what you are about to watch may not be suitable for all viewers.
The decapitation of Saddam Hussein was free to watch to all with a youtube account. In general most of the stuff is harmless but there is still some stuff there that an 11 yr old might be too young for.
