I am looking for a good book to cover XML for beginners, with a Java background, i.e. the APIs. Had a quick look at "XML for Dummies", but the author must be a Microsoft employee.

I would avoid books that cover more than one topic, as they often don't do so very well. I also think that alot of the teach yourself books aren't really worth it. I would recommend the Osbornes Complete Reference on XML. Costs a bit more but well worth it. I'm pretty sure that it covers all possible APIs
