i had my first nct yeterday on my car. i bought this car from my father and he bought it brand new from a reputable car dealer a short while ago. when i was leaving my car in the receptionist asked me was it a black car and i said no its silver. i had noticed that the licencing certificate said it was a black car but i never passed any remarks. anyway he then looked at the chasis number on the car and it didnt match the number on his system or the licencing cert and he wouldnt test the car. i havent an issue with this. i now have to get the reg sorted and i presume that the dealer that sold the car as a new model made a genuine mistake when he was registering the car and i will have to go back to him. i want to be prepared for him and make sure that he cant turn around and say i sold you the black car and thats that. is there any way that i can find out what he did at that date? or get a copy of his registration form?
