Would like to find out if Irish postage stamp is rare/collectable

I just noticed on a letter I received the letter "N" where the price would normally appear. It is the normal current postage stamp, Large-flowered butterworth, which is 55c, but instead of the 55c there is an "N" underneath Eire. I expect that this is unusual and may be of interest to a collector, but don't know where to find out. Any assistance appreciated.

Unfortunately not. There were lots of these in circulation. The N means "National" postage rate. They may have been used around the time of a price change so that there wasn't a need to reprint a load of stamps.

How much would a book of Christmas stamps which were not perforated be worth :) ?
