Worth changing to taxed as married couple?

Is there any benefit to being taxed as a married couple if there have been no changes to income since becoming married?
We're married a few years now but are still taxed as two single people. We've both remained employed full time since we married, so there hasn't been any time where one of us hasn't been earning.
Do the 'married' bands just double up those for single people? I can't see any major differences, but may be just looking in the wrong places.

If salary levels are broadly equal there should be no difference. However If one income is significantly higher than the other there should be a benefit. Citizens advice website should give you all info.

My husband earns more than me so I'd better get investigating. Thanks for replying.

No benefit if both earners are on the same marginal rate
1st earner 60000 2nd earner 35000

Benefit applies if one income is taxed only at the lower rate and 2nd income is at the higher rate
1sr Earner 60000 2nd earner 15,000
