Working & recieving CA, need a little advice

Hi there, I recieve carers allowance for my son. Have the oppurtunity of a part time job just wondering if I can take it up. Not to sure yet of hours.Will they review my CA again then taking what I earn into consideration? I also live with partner. Any advice appreciated :confused:
 
You can only work for 15 hours per week while recieving the Carers Allowance and you must let the social know if there are any changes to your circumstances.
 
Thanks for the reply giles, I finally got through to someone yesterday and they told me same. I need to send a letter with hours im working. Does anyone know how they work out means? I'm worried now that I will be over the limit and they will cut my CA is there anyway i can find out which way they work it out? Many thanks.
 
There are examples of how means test is worked out on welfare.ie-carers.
Incomes of both you and partner are combined and the formula is applied
 
Will have a look at that now black sheep, my partner gets a basic wage and sometimes commision. Do they take commission into account or what way is that worked?
