Working in UK

Currently thinking of taking up a job in London

I would be resident in the UK but commuting at least weekly to Ireland ... I'm just wondering is there anything I've not thought of when considering this.

- Income Tax - I would be paid by a UK registered company and liable for UK Tax/NI on my UK earnings - there would be no further liability on this in Ireland as I would be certainly less than 183 days in Ireland ? They have no operations in Ireland so I would not be able to be paid through them here.

- Irish PRSI - no need to keep paying this as UK NI contributions paid in full will suffice when I move back to Ireland to avoid any 5 year requalification etc.

- Property - My PPR is in Dublin (joint name with partner who will continue to be tax domiciled here) - what if I buy a place to live in the UK - I guess i would be treated as a non 1st time buyer and profits when I sell (if any given the current UK market!) would be taxed where ?

- Health Insurance - New Employer will presumably pay BUPA or whatever ... I guess I can keep up my VHI here - if I were sick I'd rather be sick here than in the UK !

- Travelling Expenses - flying over & back weekly - I presume there's no amazing tax relief on this that I havent thought of ?

Anything else ?

Just thinking in broad outlines here weighing up the opportunity to make sure I wouldn't be worse off ... obvioulsy if going forwards with it would be getting more detailed advice.

Just one or two more things I've thought of/should have mentioned

- Exchange Rate volatility - obvioulsy not a lot I can do about this .. but I'd want to be sure my numbers still looked okay if Sterling went down by say 10% vs. the Euro

- SSIA - I'd still be ordinarily resident for the next 3 years irrespective of actual domicil etc. here so no impact on that I believe.
