Working in the UK - but want to buy in Ireland

My husband and I are hoping to move back to Ireland but are currently in the UK earning in Sterling (and would continue to earn in Sterling), which means we would be applying for a foreign currency loan. We have been advised that the AIB group are the only banking group that do such mortgages and require a 30% deposit. We would need to apply for an exemption given our deposit would be 15%. Apparently they only grant 2-3% of exemptions. I wonder if anyone has experience of this?

I got an exemption for a 10% deposit with haven on the first time I applied for AIP. On renewing it went to 30% and they never explained what has changed though I might because the reapplication was for both me and my partner.

That's helpful thank you. Can I ask when it was that they agreed to the 10%?
