Hello,

I worked for City of Dublin VEC from c. 1987-1989. I have no idea whether or not any of my meagre salary was paid into a pension. How do I find this information? There is a possibility I could now transfer any pension rights into my current employer's pension scheme and I'd like to investigate this possibility.

Write to the VEC, giving all details of your employment.

There wouldn't be a transfer value but you might have joined the pension scheme at the time and could have a deferred right to 1/20th of a teacher's pension at age 60.

I wouldn't be hopeful - there wasn't compulsory enrolment in teachers' superannuation at the time.
