If I have a few hundred tunes in my wma library what can I use to back them up if I want to buy a new computer?
 
You could burn them onto multiple CD/DVD's if you have the relevant burner or you could fork out for a really useful USB key. See discussion here:

Alternatively you could network the 2 pc's and copy them across from one to the other.

Hopefully the DRM (Digital Rights Management) option was not selected when ripping to WMA (as I think it is by default on Windows MediaPlayer) otherwise the files may be locked to the existing PC and/or player and not portable!
 
Presuming that your computer runs under Windows XP, you should download the new [broken link removed]. Afaik, it's the first version to give the option of recording your music files in .mp3 format rather than .wma (which may not play back on all players) — and of switching off DRM.
