With profit fund

Hi All
I have a with profit fund with standard life.Its worth about 6,000 euro after about 6 years. I contribituted 100 euro per month.I am looking for some advice about this fund as i contributed about 5,000 of the 6,000.Am i better getting out for this or is it just down because of the markets at the mo.
I still want to save 200 euro per month as a long term investement is there better funds.

Have you considered putting the money into a pension.
Main advantage you can put just under 400 euro per month assuming you pay tax at 48% net cost 200 euro
Main disadvantage you can't get at it till your 65 or retire.

Thanks for your reply.I have a company pension and put 360 into my AVC per month.
I want a policy that will give me a lump sum in say 10-15 years.
