I mean standalone hard drives connected through a typical home wireless network.
I assume there is no other cable-less option?

Yes. Wireless Network Attached Storage (NAS). Try it. Also - [broken link removed] up on eBay a few times. However in many cases wired NAS co-located with the wired/wireless router might make more sense.

Might be possible to bolt on a wireless option to a standard wired NAS box?
