Windows in new build

I'm having a house built by a contractor (I know, I know), but he has an excellent reputation so I consider it worth it to save myself the grief of building by direct labour.

Anyway, he normally uses Munster Joinery to source his windows. I have heard a number of conflicting stories regarding this firm's windows e.g. glazing scratched, frames warping, but also excellent service etc.

Before committing to them I would really appreciate any feedback regarding this company's products and services.

Do a search on Munster Joinery on this site, and you'll find quite a few opinions. If after that you decide to go with someone else, you can PM me for details of who I got and why I don't recommend them... :(

Okay, sorry, don't know any other suppliers in that area.

Munster Joinery in general are thought of as "quality budget" suppliers i.e. they're among the cheapest and reasonably good for the price. As with all big-selling companies, there are probably good and bad stories floating around.

I used Munster Joinery and found them pretty good. I had scratches on my sitting room window which I put in the snag list for the builder and Munster were back to sort it out within a short period. To be honest I think the window cleaner cause most of the scratches when they cleaned the windows. Its like everything, you hear good and bad stories about these companies all the time. I seen windows they did in a house the other day and they were beautiful. They were the old style lift up windows in a cream finish.
Best of luck.
