Windows for new build - Wood/Aluminium/PVC

Okay - we will shortly be deciding on our windows for our new build.

I like the PVC, my other half prefers the aluminium (alu-clad) exterior with wood interior. Apparently the aluminium are more energy efficient?? Note some of our windows are v large.

I know alot of people to have gone for the wood only windows? I am so unsure to be honest - we are waiting on quotes to come into us now, should be interesting........

What would you recommend?

Yep, keep an eye on U values...

Wood only in Ireland? With our weather you would be painting/treating every year.

Alu clad will be at least twice the price of basic PVC windows if not 3 and will take longer to manufacture.

How do you find the alu clad, have you had them fitted long? Also what colour did u go for?

My other half is all for them...

We are thinking of going with Bonner windows.
