Health Insurance Will they cover the same procedure a second time?

Hi,

So my VHI covered strabismus surgery (lazy eye) for me earlier this year and unfortunately it was not a success and the condition returned a short while later.
Now I was aware this can happen and people can get results from a second surgery or in rare cases even a third.

Now I will contact VHI and see what the story is here but just wondering in people's general opinion would a healthcare provider cover the same procedure twice, (assuming they offer cover for it which they did in this case). I understand getting the same procedure more than once may not be that common of an occurrence.

this procedure - like a lot need repeating, so why would they not cover it?

I think there's some small print about dental procedures being tooth specific but I've never heard of any such issue with health insurance, if it is recommended by the practitioner.
