Will receving monies owed affect dole?

Hi,

Years ago my brother borrowed money off me. (he always has down the years).
To my surprise he has now suggested paying me back at a rate of perhaps 100e per month (€1500 total).

I am receiving JSA at the moment (actually, I was just called into them last week to review my finances.)

How would welfare view this if he were to pay it into my account?

You would most likely be asked to explain a regular lodgement to your account at your next review. A regular payment might be seen as income rather than repayment of the debt.

It might be useful to ask your brother to sign a document stating that he's going to pay you back as you outlined, so you have something to show at your next review.
