Will fax machine purchased in England work in Ireland?

If I purchase a fax machine from a seller in England on eBay will the fax machine have any problems connecting to a phone socket here?

Would it work just as normal? Thanks

It should work OK, but you'll probably need a BT to Eircom/RJ11 converter. If you don't use this, the phone may not ring for incoming calls.

And, when buying a fax machine, see how much replacement inks/carbon rolls will cost beforehand. I know some BT fax machines have expensive replacment carbon rolls even though the machine itself is cheap.
