Just looking for advise re is there a difference between contents of house or household contents. A aunt left a house and its household contents to her nephew and left all the rest, residue and reminder of her property of every nature and kind wheresoever situate to her nieces and nephew ( the same one that got the house). This was all done legal. When her nieces were cleaning the house they found a sum of money and between them and their brother they decided to divide it equally between them and didnt tell the solictor about it. Now 15 years later during a family argument the brother said he should have got all the money as it was part of the house contents. Is he right? The amount work out at about 1,500.00 punts each. (6,000.00 in total). We know we should have declared it at the time but thats another story.

What does it now matter - they all agreed at the time?

Presumably, if it had been declared, it would have been resoved at the time either by agreement or the Court. TBH, it sounds like nephew felt he was doing just grand out of the estate and it would not hurt to split the money up.

Forget about it.
