Will an insurance co. cover me in Ireland having an Aussie License

Just about to buy a new car which I'd like to pick up this week. Have to go apply to exchange a full Australian license for an Irish one. (No test required just have to follow the application process and surrender old one).

This takes approx 10 days. Will an insurance company insure me even though I will still temporarily have a non EU license? Anyone experienced this before?
 
most companies will insure you and treat you as having an irish licence as you are use to driving on the left hand side.
