Wii update

My sister bought new super mario bros for the wii and the system seemed to update itself but now wii play and wii chess no longer work becuase of this update. Keeps coming up with an error code and says to refer to manual. She doesn't have wireless broadband - I presume some type of software fix/update is required - any suggestions ?

If she has no wireless broadband is the Wii wired via network cable to the broadband router. If not then it could not update itself.
perhaps it is telling you the game requires your will to be updated?

Has she tried putting the error code into Google?
