Thinking of going to Wicklow for two nights around St Patrick's weekend. Plan to do some hill walking etc. We want to stay in a village where they are good bars/restaurants. Was thinking of Enniskerry? Has anyone got any suggestions or thoughts??

thanks

There isn't much in the way of pubs & restaurants in Enniskerry, though it is a nice little village. I think Greystones is really good for both, plenty of nice places to eat. Not sure where you would stay though. You could also stay in Enniskerry and just get a taxi in the evenings over to Greystones as they are very close.

If you want to be close to the hills/mountains/sallygap then Laragh is ideal. Lynhams of Laragh is great for food and drink. Laragh also close to Rathdrum, lovely restaurant there called Bates. Roundwood might also be an option but not sure if many restaurants/pubs there.
