To boost Daily Mail sales in the Republic and increase ad revenue
To establish a presence in the Irish market for the Daily Mail Trust... a newspaper market that is proving to be one of only a handful in the developed world where sales are not in steep long term decline (yet)
To make money (in the long run)
To possibly weaken INM's grip on the Irish newspaper market with a long term view to establish other products here (such as a Sunday paper, magazines etc.)
To extend the Daily Mail brand internationally and thus utilise untapped brand value (i.e. the McDonalds strategy)
