A friend gave me a 2 plate gas camping hob recently and I took the regulator into a camping shop to see if I could get some bottled gas. He had nothing to fit the regulator (said the unit was bought in either Lidl or Aldi and the regulator was no good). He produced a gas bottle about 8 - 10 inches in diameter and about 10 inches tall and told me it would be €105 to purchase a full canister and then €30 per bottle exchange thereafter (i.e. empty bottle for full bottle).
This didn't include the new regulator so I thanked him and left. Cheaper to stay in a hotel!!!
