Tony Blair wants hom to get it. Jacques Chirac wants him to get it. The Germans won't argue with the Brits or the Frenchies.

You would have thought that turning up for interview in a banana suit would have completely stymied his chances or is it because he is gormless that they all want him in there? :D
 
You underestimate Bertie at your peril. He is a very skilful negociator and a master of understanding the political landscape. One of the key roles of the president is buiding consensus. Is there anyone better then Bertie at this? He has been around for ages on the European stage.
