Who's for President 2025? Any takers?

Yes, Connolly is yet another Galway Socialist with an eerily similar CV to Michael D - former lecturer, former Galway Mayor, former Labour Councillor - and Gaeilgoir. Has all the essential credentials i.e the mandatory interest in "human rights," and the weary habit of getting involved in the politics of far-flung places, which are none of our business yet provide glowing media coverage at home. (Apart from when it goes spectacularly and embarrassingly wrong - she was instrumental in the campaign to award Aung San Suu Kyi the Freedom of Galway - which of course had to be revoked when they found out she didn't quite fit the profile.)

And it goes without saying that Palestine/Gaza looms large in her worldview. Sigh...

Is she also a Po-et and quite possibly Ireland's greatest living intellectual?
Has she, in her own words, proclaimed that she has been on the right side of every social issue in this country in the last 40 years?
Has she the family home sub-divided into student flats but pontificates about landlords?
Is she utterly bereft of humility?

If so, then she fits the bill.

I'd like to see Linda Irvine go for it. Irish language activist from East Belfast. She has done amazing work to promote and link the Protestant community to their Irish language heritage.
