Anyone know the best type of place to get this in large quantities?

I'm thinking at least 5 litres. Would a cash & carry sell this size?
 
I think I saw it in Musgraves in 5 litre containers. As a matter of interest how were you going to make the weedkiller?
 
Thanks - have to check the quantities but apparently vinegar + salt + washing up liquid is all that is needed. Google it and you will see plenty of 'recipes'. Some sceptics around, but plenty swear by it and claim it will sterilise soil for up to two years. I'm going to try it anyway.

I'm nowhere near any Musgraves but maybe local cash & carry might have the vinegar.
 
I got 5L for about a fiver in Asia Market in Drury St. It's fantastic for cleaning, as fabric conditioner in the washing machine, hair conditioner, weedkiller, as an anti-fungal and lots more.

Would that not leave a smell of vinegar on your clothes?

This is the first i've head of vinegar on clothes. :confused:
 
No, it doesn't at all. I added a few drops of lavender essential oil the first time I used it but it has since proved unecessary. My clothes don't smell of anything when washed - some people might miss the fragrance of fabric conditioner but I don't. Sometimes I add essential oil for sheets if I fancy a bit of fragrance.

Nor does it leave hair smelling of fish and chips - but cleared up an itchy, flakey scalp after just one use!

Sodium bicarb and vinegar are my "must haves" for just about everything at home!

ETA: you only need a small volume for fabric conditioner; I use the cap from my old concentrated fabric conditioner, just one capful is plenty.

Well when showering, after I wash my hair with sodium bicarbonate, I pour a diluted vinegar mix over my hair - maybe 50mls vinegar made up to 250mls with water for condtioning. The first few times I used a more concentrated mix (50/50 vinegar/water) but I've been gradually reducing the vinegar. I leave it on a couple of minutes while I wash the rest of me then I rinse off. It doesn't take much rinsing though. Some people use it as a pre-wash treatment for dandruff - maybe 50/50 water and vinegar and leave it longer. You can use any sort of vinegar - it seems to be the low pH that helps.

Some of these tips and a lot more are in a book called Vinegar by Maria Costantino & Gina Steer. I bought mine in Tesco for €6.99.
