Anyone know where I could get an oak table made?
Can't find an extendable oak table in the size I want anywhere.
 
You could take a look at the appropriately-named table.ie. I haven't used them myself but they can make whatever you want by the look of it.
 
Thanks for that, their tables do look good but looks like they don't do what I want. The extending tables seem to have side leaves rather than two square panels sitting on top of each other. Otherwise I'd like a round extendable table, their round tables looked like fixed tops.

I consider table.ie to be expensive. I'm not sure if they do make anything.. I think you can only customise existing designs.

Having said that I'm a competator of theirs, to a small degree, as I make kitchens and could also make tables, although I rarely make tables.

Depending on your budget I'd recommend either Table.ie, who do seem to make nice stuff, or else check out furniture.ie for local cabinet makers in your area, who may be more competative on price, and who may have more capability to make tables to you exact design.
 
Thanks Joe. I thought table.ie was expensive too but not sure about the price of solid wood tables.

This is exactly what I want but in solid oak not veneer. Thanks for the tip about cabinet makers, hadn't thought of that.

Where are you based pebbledash? Agreed that table.ie appears expensive. You could also put the request up on onlinetradesmen.ie and get a selection of quotes.
 
Yes, or else put it up on TenderMe..just include loads of info, too much is far better than too little.

Would you be extending the table every day?, or just very occasionally?

I can't really see how that extending table works... it seems the top turns over somehow, I wonder how strong it is when in the extended postion.

Also put posts up here asking about carpenters and cabinet makers in your local area. Any kitchen company that does bespoke or custom work should be able to make up the table.
 
Higginbothams in fairview make up furniture. i put in a maple fitted kitchen in a house in portmarnock and they made up a lovely table to match. their number should be in the book
