Where to get rid of old uPVC windows

As some of you know I work with old sash windows but from time to time I'm asked to remove uPVC and put in new sash windows.

I normally take the old frames and put them in a stack outside my workshop and when it gets big enough I get rid of it in 1 go (skip).

The old glass, double glazed or otherwise, goes to my window supplier who takes it away for nothing.

I was talking to a guy recently who told me it's possible to get people to buy the old frames.

Well anyone know where?

PVC extrusion is extremely cheap to produce and cut so I can't see you getting much for them.

If the windows are not damaged, there is a market on Buyandsell & eBay etc where they could be used for building sheds etc.

Also possibly Adverts and instead of hiring a skip to get rid, advertise them on freecycle or cheapcycle.

That's my whole problem everytime I have left them over night outside a site they are gone in the morning and the glass is still there.

Maybe I'll get in touch with a salvage yard and see.

I don't do many installations where I'm removing uPVC and installing sash windows so it's not a big problem.

There is a guy in the old cottages on the Cappagh Road in Finglas who will take them. Drive towards the hospital and at the traffic lights look accross to your right. Sorry no phone number!

Don't know if this will really help as you probably want to get rid of them in bulk, but some gardeners would be interested in them to create cold frames and the like - if you know anyone with an allotment they might know some one interested.
