where can I transfer currencies from other countries?

Admin - please remove if this post is not in the correct forum.

I recently came across various coins and notes from other countries - left over from holidays long forgotten now.

Is there somewhere I can cash in or donate?

Sterling and US dollars would probably still be of value - can sterling notes and coins (some now out of circulation) be brought to a UK bank when I'm next there?

Or is this something the Central Bank here can advise?

A family bereavement in NY and a need to get dollars. 8 people and probably going on Sunday although that leaves little time but this was sudden. Where's the best place to get dollars to bring over please?
 
Unlikely your bank will have them unless you've booked it but you could try. Failing that you will always get them at the airport but at airport exchange fees
