when is garden safe for kids after rat poison has been used?

Had Storm poison out to kill rats in garden a few months ago. Box with poison in it was removed but could there be any crumbs around still or does it wash away? Wondering if it'll be okay for kids to be out there soon?

Thanks - could you give me a bit more info though or can anyone else back this up please as I've always been told the poison is lethal - will it have washed away by now or something?
 
Flocoumafen (anti-coagulant in Storm and other rat-baits), used as a rodenticide usually supplied in waxed bait blocks, is insoluble in water, and the blocks are designed and formulated not to crumble.

What does it say on the packaging for the product? By law, there should be poisoning risk information and symptoms listed.

I'm not trying to worry you, but surely you checked this information before you put the stuff out in your garden.

It also comes in granulated (pellets) form by the way. The advice on the pack states that "ingestion of relatively large quantities of bait would be required before a toxic dose is expected". In other words unless your kids eat the stuff there is no danger.
Since the OP stated that it has been "a few months" since the poison was used and that the box was taken away, I am very sure there is absolutely no risk at all for the kids.
 
thanks very much for that - all that rain and snow should have washed any remnants into the soil by now then.
