According to the RTB site:

"Rent review notices can be served as usual during the emergency period, but they cannot take effect until after the emergency period is over. This should be stated in any rent review notice and no backdating of rent may apply. "

The emergency powers end on 9th November, but is there a date yet by which the above referenced 'emergency period' is considered to be over?

The Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (COVID-19) Act 2020 defines the "emergency period" as a period of three months commencing on 27 March 2020, which period may be extended by the Minister for Housing.

I think it is highly likely that the "emergency period" will be extended – possibly to the end of 2020.

Thanks Sarenco. As of now, it ends on 27th June; I guess I'll wait and see if they do extend it. I don't think they can extend beyond 9th November without new legislation though?
