what to do to wrap our company up

myself and my friend set up a company earlier this year and have just completed our first return. However, we have never traded, made no purchases and made no sales. We have no creditors or debtors. We have basically done nothing but now want to wrap things up in the most efficient and cost effective way. What should we do? Thanks. What happens if we just do nothing?
 
If I were you I would do a Voluntary Dissolution. There are various steps that need to be taken including a newspaper ad.

If you do nothing you will be struck off eventually, but it is prefereable to go for voluntary strike off.

Will cost you about €300-€400 plus the price of a newspaper add - another €200, or you can try to do it yourself and only outlay being the newspaper add.

If you do nothing, you will probably eventually just be stuck off for non filing, however, it is not the ideal way to end things, if you want to commence trading or become a director again in the future.
 
hi. i know a firm that specialise in applying for voluntary strike off notices for companies(this is the technial term for closing the company) such as yours and as such tehy offer competitive rates. pm me if you would like their contact details.

Why not name them? Any half-decent accountancy firm can also provide this service, normally at a very reasonable fee, provided there are no complications in tax or CRO filing records.
 
I had to do this recently and was going to do it myself until I was quoted 500 for the newspaper ad! I got a local company to do it called Company Bureau www.companybureau.ie charged me 450 I think and gave me a v. good service...
 
Those rates are ok, that would be the norm, given that it costs about €200 for newspaper ad.
