What is the process for paying CGT on sale of PPR?

Hi there,
how is a CGT return on the sale of a PPR made where the house has been rented for part of the period of ownership.

Is it done by the self assessable person on a form 11/form 12 or form CG1 before Oct 31st in the following year and thats it?

The reason I asked is that someone mentioned a possible CGT withholding tax which I can find no information about.
