www.wotif.com - we used this when on honeymoon in OZ in 2004, I presume it is still on the go. It was useful as we booked accomodation as we went and had last minute deals in nice hotels which was good.

http://www.hotelclub.com (www.hotelclub.com) is an Australian company -- Flair Travel AFAIK. They also carry info on a lot of the budget backpacker places.
On the basis that they are local and should know what they're talking about, they are always worth a look (for comparison purposes at least) when booking in Oz.
