What happens to tax allowances etc if wife gives up work

What happens to a married couple's tax allowances etc if one person gives up work?
At present both of us work and are jointly assessed for tax. For a number of reasons my wife may have to give up work fairly soon. What happens to our tax in that situation? Will my earnings be taxed using our joint allowance or will it go back to being an individual allowance.
 
Hi,
You will continue to be jointly assessed with one income Standard Rate Cut off of €41,800 with a Married Cr of €3300 amd PAYE Cr if applicable.
