I have been named as executor in a will. I am not sure, but I believe a lot of people have been willed cash ammounts (the property is to be sold). What happens if the property/cash falls short,??
Governed by the rules set out in the Succession Act 1965. If cash/property falls short, it will depend on the particular bequests in the will - some are used earlier than others to discharge debts.
If some of a certain catagory is used to pay debts then the amount remaining is divided pro-rata
