What are the Benefits of PRSI?

The only one I previously availed of (or was even aware of) was the free dental checkup. Now that that's gone, what other benefits do we get for paying PRSI contributions?

Revenue.ie mentions "disability benefit, widow's/widower contributory pension, old-age contributory pension etc." I am 32, single and not disabled, what other benefits of PRSI are there?

Many thanks.

Here is a comprehensive list of benefits for "normal" (i.e. PAYE) PRSI payments. PRSI stands for "Pay Related Social *Insurance*" which means that you may not have to avail of any of the benefits, but e.g. if you become disabled, you are insured against it to a certain degree.

Thank you for the link. I haven't seen that site before, it looks very useful, I'll get reading.

The dental check-up is still covered by PRSI, it's the other treatments (fillings, etc) that are no longer covered.
