What approximately is Estate Agent fees for selling your hse?

Hi,
I was just wondering does anyone have a rough idea how much the charges are for selling a house.
E.G say a house is worth 500K, how much cut would an Estate Agent and then solicitor fees come to?

Anywhere between 0.5% and 1% is fairly standard. You shouldn't have to work too hard to get 0.5 or 0.6%, especially if your home is in an area the EAs believe will sell quickly.

Solicitors can work for a flat fee (€1000 + VAT + Outlays) or for a percentage. Go for a flat fee if possible. Around €1000 (+ the additional costs) is fairly standard, maybe a little higher or lower.

an estate agent has quoted me 1.25% plus VAT with a minimum fee of €2950 to sell an apartment worth 150k. Does this sound a bit on the high side?

He also got my first name AND surname wrong in some of the material he posted me, which rightly ****ed me off - but thats another story!
