I think you would be crazy to sign up for any accounts package at this stage. Do everything you need on an excel spreadsheet for as long as you can. Accounts software is great for businesses that have a lot of transactions e.g. High volumes of purchase invoices and a lot of customers or clients. In my opinion an accounts package would complicate things for you, never mind the fact that they can be pricey. VAT etc. would be much easier to calculate in thus way also as you could see your figures at a glance. Yes by all means change over when volume increases.
