What a match

As hurling matches go yesterday's Munster final had everything. Two brilliant teams, Cork and Limerick served up arguably the best match in years. Great goals , points, extra time , penalties and a referee substitute and heated managers , on the touch line.
Congratulations to Cork on a great win but somehow I don't think we have seen the last of Limerick......
I hope today's match is as good. Good luck to Kilkenny and Galway.
Best of luck too to Kildare and Laois on their final too

Leinster final was a hard watch after Saturday night, although good to see Kilkenny have not lost the ability under the high ball

Penalties are an abomination in Hurling, I know a replay would have meant the loosers would be out 4 weeks in a row but it is better then a shoot out.

And yes, I agree we've not seen the last of Limerick and they could still win it all, but they also only won 2 matches out of 5 in Munster this year

Yesterday's match was a hard watch after the excitement of Saturday evening match.
Kilkenny always do enough to get the job done .
Limerick may only have won two matches but , like Kilkenny, the win when it matters..
I agree I would much prefer a replay than a shoot out , perhaps after a replay .

And a very good second match too. Well done Tipp on that very good win over Galway.
Can't wait for the semi,s...

At half time Donal Og Cusack was the only pundit to stress that Dublin were playing the better hurling. He’s an excellent pundit and unlike all the others he sheds county loyalty for honest remarks in all his appearances and well done to him for that.

I don't think many either pundits or other ' hurling people ' gave Dublin a chance at all, I didn't think that they would beat Limerick either.
But I always did say that there is only a puck of a ball between all the top hurling teams..
Roll on the semis as I think they are also too close to call.
That's the great thing about hurling......the unpredictability.

Ok so , forget about the Dublin double.....that's gone.
What about Cork though. That was hurling at its best , the quality of the build up to the fantastic goals was breathtaking.....and skillful.
Dublin hurled well but were beaten by a rampant Cork..
Today's match should be just as exciting...
Hard one to call so good luck to Kilkenny and Tipperary....

What a match!! Congrats to the Tipp camogie players after extra time and the Tipp hurlers. The first ever Tipp vs Cork All Ireland Senior Hurling Final in prospect. Can't wait.

I didnt see the camogie but what another fantastic game of hurling...
Hard luck on Kilkenny but well done to Tipperary.
It has the making of another classic final ....

Like the Limerick team against Dublin, Kilkenny seemed confused by having an extra player on the field and failed completely to capitalise on numerical superiority, proving yet again that hurling is not just a numbers game, except where it matters, on the scoreboard.

That's right......although the scoreboard isn't even always accurate.....it seems.... there was some confusion yesterday ...

Excellent and nail biting game. Tipp were “gone” on several occasions. Somehow they kept fighting back and all looked worse for them when McCarthy got sent off (Will he ever learn?). And he is now a marked liability and so young. Even Tipp’s 4th goal - Did he mean to score a point? Did he mishit ? Four Cats around him and still he got his shot away. He put a lot of topspin on the sliotar, I noticed. Did the goalkeeper fall down on the job? And that was all in three seconds of play.

My thoughts before having a bet on the final:-
1. Tipp didn’t concede a goal yesterday, can this be repeated against the Cork high scorers? - Cork will score goals against Tipp.
2. A draw at fulltime =Loss of your bet.
3. For Cork to lose they will have to play below their best and Tipp must play above their capabilities.
4. Cork haven’t won an All Ireland Senior Hurling final in 20 years. They are due a win.
5. Tipp somehow got to the final. They have less to lose than Cork.
6. What form of Tipp’s discipline will show up? - Vast majority of foul play will be punished.

Odds of 1/3 are not good value for Cork. Keep your hard earned money in your pocket. Tipp @ 3/1+ might attract my fun-bet

The 1/3 is outright, not 70 mins.
Cork & Tipp both drew with Limerick in 70 mins.
Cork have lost 4 All Irelands in last 20 years. Tipp have lost 3 and won 3.
The inspired backed Tipp @ 25/1 after the loss to Cork. The believers backed them @ 10/1 before the Galway match. Both will now be laying some of that off to cover the bet or make a profit.

But there is no such thing as a certainty in a two ' horse's race , in my opinion....

Indeed, Limerick were 1/9 against Dublin. It's 15 against 15 on any given Sunday.
