Thinking of taking the brood (10 & 7) to Dublin for a weekend before the school hols finish up. Have done similar breaks all over the country but never in the big smoke. Any advice out there on best places to stay? Would be taking the car, as train too expensive for 4, so on site parking essential. Not too bothered on ameneities such as pool, gym etc. due to the short duration.

Have you a supervalue card? Plenty of availability in Dublin and remember with the supervalue break the two kids are free. Have a look at [broken link removed]

Zoo is brilliant - much improved towards a few years ago.
Do jury's do family rates?

Bewleys in Ballsbridge is great value & so close to the city centre. has onsite parking too Think its around 10 euro a day. Try Imaginosity in sandyford - sis is teacher & raves about it . Suits from 4 to about 12. near to Dundrum too for a spot of shopping. try the Zoo - kids always love it. Oh & the Viking experience - kids ( & granny ) loved it.

Enjoy

Hey Kelly,

Came across this site that have a selection of hotels in Dublin with some good prices for families, plus they give you a good list of different things to do etc...

Hope the trip goes well for you!

Went for Bewleys in Ballsbridge (ta v much to Jenzz for that one). Excellent value on the booking - €99 per night for family room with €8 per day for parking. Definitely going to do the Zoo. Tempted also by the Viking Splash tour & Lambert Puppet Theatre (more for the missus that the kids - big Wanderly Wagon fan in her day!). Thanks to all for the feedback.
