we have got rid of the thumbs down button

i'm all for keeping the dislike button. too often i see on other platforms (like boards, instagram, twitter) where its been removed that absolute nonsense (or scam links) can be heavily upvoted( by bots and others) so that some posts can seem correct....even when anybody with an ounce of sense can see they aren't.
 
I don't think bots and scam links are an issue on AAM thankfully, combination of lower profile site versus twitter etc and vigilant mods.
I'd prefer them dealt with that way than rely on community downvoting.

Let me know when you see an example of this on askaboutmoney.

The like buttons are not used that often and they don't result in the post being "upvoted" to a more prominent position.
