Hello. How do I calculate the watt hours per cell or watt rating figure for a lithium-ion 5000 mAh smartphone battery? I don't know the voltage figure. Thanks.

Formula is (mAh)*(V)/1000 = (Wh). For example, if you have a 300mAh battery rated at 5V, the power is 300mAh * 5V / 1000 = 1.5Wh.

No thats for a car battery, that would be too high for a smartphone, for a lithuim ion smartphone battery, googling says it is between 3.7 and 4.2 volts

Yeah, lithium cells have a nominal voltage in the region of 3.7V, but can reach up to 4.2 or higher fully charged with no load.
