Washing machine filter problem

My OH removed the filter at the bottom of the washing machine but couldn't get it back in properly. Now the filter is completely stuck and water leaks through the filter if I pour some water into the soap dispenser. There is a clip on the filter that should rotate the whole filter but I think it's damaged. Turning the clip doesn't move the filer assembly at all.

It's a Whilrpool AWM3000.

Any suggestions for someone to have a look at this in D15?
 
Take the filter out, drive to glasnevin industrial estate, go to the finglas side (over by woodies) and call into kenco. Tell them computerman sent you (they dont know me, but when your not trade, it helps to break the ice :))

Show them the part, they will tell you if its broken and get you a replacement if you need one).

I dont think they are in the phone book, any way its better to bring the part with you but make sure you have the model number with you.

After you get the part, there is a spare part center in Dublin city center, phone them and ask them for a price on the part, you will be very surprised by the mark up!
 
Thanks but my problem is I can't get the filter out at all. It won't move! It's stuck and doesn't want to budge.
 
all sorts of stuff get caught in the filters money, screws and false nails were taking out of my one. if you can force abit of a coat hanger in alongside and rattle it around to free it something could holding it like a screw!
 
try to turn the clip anti clockwise that should release the pressure on the sealing ring that is between the clip and the filter body .If its very hard to turn try a vice grips to get some leaverage.

Yes Kenco are a good crowd to get parts from.

If you do get one, when you put in the part, ensure the seal is 100% clean. use a torch, because sometimes tiny grit get in there, and causes problem,
 
Thanks for the suggestions. A woman’s delicate touch got the filter out where my brute force wouldn't!

I'll ring around tomorrow to get a replacement and fingers crossed.
