Washer/Dryer on the blink?

Tonight the washer/dryer stopped. It made some grating noise yesterday while drying ........ then tonight - wallop. Any advice anyone? Fixable or a new one?
 
Check the fuse in plug first ....grating noise could be some coins / hair bands caught in pipe ....... Maybe it has blown the electric motor .

A callout will cost around 100 euro ...try them on a ''no fix no fee basis ''
 
Thanks everybody. Everything kosher at the mo. Unfortunately we had failed to clean the wet/dry filter for ten days. All blocked up ......... but after clearing it ....... it gurgled awhile ........ presumably getting rid of trapped water, before going on it's merry way.:) Mrs. Simeon has awarded my genius by pouring an exceptionally large glass of Taylor's White Port. Cheers!;)
