Washer/Dryer on the blink?

Tonight the washer/dryer stopped. It made some grating noise yesterday while drying ........ then tonight - wallop. Any advice anyone? Fixable or a new one?

Check the fuse in plug first ....grating noise could be some coins / hair bands caught in pipe ....... Maybe it has blown the electric motor .

A callout will cost around 100 euro ...try them on a ''no fix no fee basis ''

Thanks everybody. Everything kosher at the mo. Unfortunately we had failed to clean the wet/dry filter for ten days. All blocked up ......... but after clearing it ....... it gurgled awhile ........ presumably getting rid of trapped water, before going on it's merry way. Mrs. Simeon has awarded my genius by pouring an exceptionally large glass of Taylor's White Port. Cheers!
