Laya Warning: Laya drops cover for Blackrock Clinic and Mater Private on many popular policies

I have raised the question in another thread about an insurer's obligations to highlight reductions in cover.

The point of this thread is to warn Laya customers of the following policies not to renew automatically as there has been a significant reduction in cover.

From the "Renewal Check-Up" brochure

Benefit changes
Cover for the Mater Private Hospital, Dublin and the Blackrock Clinic, except for specialist cardiac
procedures and specified orthopaedic procedures,is no longer available on the following schemes:

• Flex 175 Explore
• Flex 175 Plus
• Flex 175 Choice
• Flex 250 Explore
• Flex 250 Plus
• Flex 250 Choice
• Flex 375 Explore
• Flex 375 Plus
• Flex 375 Choice
• Flex 500 Explore
• Flex 500 Plus
• Flex 500 Choice

Yes. I moved to Control 600. One of the other reasons I moved was because my renewal notice was more expensive than if I was a first time customer. I was on one of their Flex products. I rang them and asked them to match the price and they refused. If I moved to Control 600 I got the same price as a new customer.
