Has anyone got this type of toliet in their home?
I am considering getting one in a new bathroom but am worried that the unit containing the fixtures is in the wall and if their was a problem I would have to break the tiles.
Anyone got experience with these type of toilets?

Brother-in-law's house in South of france has this system. No problem in the last five years.

In my experience (and on this subject, I have quite a lot ;)), there are some very good concealed cisterns on the market, and wall mounted wc's. Regarding your concern about getting access when things go wrong try and get a cistern that has an access panel on the front face. Set out your tiles so that 1 no. tile covers this access and instead of using tile addesive on this tile, use a mastic. This way it is removable whenever necessary. :)

Dont ask me to recommend a brand as I cant.

The setup itself won't be anymore problematic than any other pan and cistern arrangement. Just be sure there are excellent grounds for fixing to, and as you alluded to - that there is access to the cistern and ballcock. You should have some means of access to the nut on the flushpipe also, for future use for when the syphon fails and requires replacement. You could specify a Turbo syphon which is servicable from the top but always a risk if you can't get your hand on the flushpipe nut.
