Wall Mounted Elec Fires and Wall Mounted TVs

I keep seeing these pictures in magazines of elecric fires and large screen T.Vs mounted on walls, usually the chimney breast, one on top of the other.

In the magazine pictures, no plugs or cables of any kind are visible. How can this be? Where are the aerial connections for the t.v. and the plugs for both t.v. and electric fire?

I presume the elec fire cables can be chased into the walls, and the items sited over the sockets to hide them, but can t.v. aerial connections be chased into walls and what would one do if anything went wrong?

Can anyone help with this.

Yep all the connections are behind the tv, and yes the wiring is behind the plaster

The tv aerial cable can be chased into the wall and then connected into a flush wall mounted socket in this way the cable is safe and it is nearly impossible for it to develop a fault unless someone puts a nail through it or something like that.

Does this also inlude all the scart plugs you generally have these days????

I have my tele hanging on the wall and I have two scart cables going out one connector to the digital box and one connector to the x-box. and of course the powercable... Cables galore! But I've got some surround shelf system so i could disguise and bury them somewhat, but these pictures in magazines are misleading and you only realise once you've hung up the thing that you have to stick about 5 cables into it

when i built my house i got my brother to build brick surround outside my blockwork chimmey breast,so we have a stove(never used as house is warm without it) in the fireplace and above the mantlepiece a 40 inch tv inset the brickwork,all cables are behind the brick and the tv is almost flush with the brick. my brother used a picture of this in the friday ad when looking for work

Hi, so bascially the cable for an electric fire can be chased into the wall and this is no big deal for electrician etc..?? this is done before slabbing yes

Ideally all cables are put in place prior to slabbing. Much neater job and eliminates the need for chasing, which is cutting a channel in plaster or brickwork after the fact to accomodate cables.
